With the Papo API (https://papo.global/) you automate the creation, sending, and analysis of email marketing campaigns directly from your system, without accessing the panel manually. The Email Marketing endpoints let you manage campaigns, templates, audiences, and performance metrics through REST calls, using the same secret key authentication as the rest of the API.

Summary of operations via API

Operation What you can do programmatically
List campaigns Get the list of campaigns with metrics (sent, opens, clicks) to feed dashboards or reports.
Create campaign as draft Create a new email campaign in draft state, defining audience, template, sender, and scheduling.
Send campaign Launch (send) a campaign that is already in draft or paused, starting the actual sends.
Send individual email Send a single email immediately, ideal for transactional communications or tests.
List templates Retrieve the email templates saved in the account for reuse in campaigns.
List audiences Get the available contact lists (audiences), including dynamic ones, for automatic segmentation.

All operations follow the REST standard, with JSON responses and authentication via Authorization: Bearer <secret_key>. Like any other Papo endpoint, you need a secret key (sk_live_…) generated in the panel under Developers.

How it works: automating the full lifecycle of a campaign

1. Authenticate and explore the endpoints

Before any call, get your secret key in the Papo panel (Developers section). The base URL is the same as the general API, and all requests must include the authorization header. With the key in hand, you can list the existing audiences and templates to plan the campaign.

2. Create a campaign in draft mode

Use the email campaign creation endpoint (draft mode) to build the send without sending it immediately. In the request, you provide:

  • The sending credential (configured email inbox).
  • The template ID (or the content payload if creating inline).
  • The audience (list ID or an array of contacts).
  • Optional settings such as scheduling date/time and sending windows.

The response returns the campaign's unique identifier, allowing you to retrieve it later.

3. Send the campaign or schedule the send

With the campaign ID in hand, you can send (launch) it with another call. If you prefer automatic scheduling, simply include the date and time fields at creation time – the campaign will stay as a scheduled draft and will be sent at the defined moment.

4. Monitor performance

Use the campaign listing endpoint to check metrics at any time. You will receive data such as total sent, open rate, and number of clicks. These numbers can be pulled into dashboards within your system (for example, Google Data Studio, Power BI, or spreadsheets) using periodic calls or webhooks.

Typical use cases

  • Event-driven lead nurturing: A webhook from your ERP reports that a lead reached a certain score; your system automatically sends an email campaign via API, moving the lead to the next stage.
  • Unified corporate reporting: Your BI tool periodically queries campaign metrics and combines them with sales data, all on a scheduled basis.
  • Automations in n8n or Zapier: Create flows that, when a new contact arrives in the CRM, create a welcome campaign draft and send it without manual intervention.
  • White label resale: Integrate campaign creation and management into your own client portal, keeping your brand identity while using Papo's infrastructure.

Who this solution is for

  • Developers and IT teams who want to integrate email marketing into internal systems.
  • Agencies that need to generate campaigns in bulk for dozens of clients without accessing each one's panel.
  • White label resellers who want to offer email sending as part of their portfolio, controlled via API.
  • Companies that use automations in n8n, Zapier, or custom scripts.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a different API key to use the Email Marketing endpoints?

No. The same keys (public and secret) you already use for the other Papo resources work on the email endpoints. Authentication is the same, via the Authorization: Bearer header.

Can I send a single email, such as a transactional notification?

Yes. The API allows individual, immediate sends without the need to create a campaign. Just provide the recipient, subject, content, and sending credential.

How do I know whether the campaign was actually sent?

When you call the launch endpoint, the API returns the campaign status. After that, you can check the campaign listing to verify whether the status changed from "draft" to "sending" or "completed" and get progress metrics.

Which metrics does the API return?

Responses include at least the total emails sent, opens, and clicks. The exact available fields are documented in the listing endpoint, which can be explored with tools such as Postman or the API's own discovery interface.

Can I create email templates via the API?

The current template listing functionality lets you retrieve the templates already existing in the account. Creating new templates can be done in the panel; check the updated documentation to confirm whether the creation route is available via API.

Can I schedule a campaign for a specific date?

Yes. When creating the draft, you can provide the desired date and time. The campaign will remain in that state and will be sent automatically at the scheduled moment, as long as it is not manually paused.
